The Turkey Wang Man

LaBoo’s Finest began in September 2013 at the local flea market with two counter top fryers and a bull horn. I have always been a big fan of deep fried turkey wings from the infamous Mr. Pierre. I recall when he would give us turkey wings for $1, as long as we had our school id. Shortly after coming home from prison, I met with him and indicated that I was seriously interested in selling turkey wings. I admired him and I wanted him to mentor me. Honestly, he didn’t believe me at first. But once he saw me on the corner yelling “DEEP FRIED TURKEY WANGZ FOR SALE!” with my bullhorn, I got it attention. Mr. Pierre turned his truck around, asked me “Are you really serious?”. After I responded, not only did he give me my first real sign, “Turkey Wings & Beer”, but he asked me to come to his store because he wanted to meet with me. That visit to his store changed my life. He gave me the ultimate recipe to the wings he sold for over thirty years! I only looked at it one time, but that’s all it took. The Turkey Wang Man was born. 

Although Mr. Pierre, is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in every turkey wang I sell. Turkey Wangz and Dat Sauce has grown dramatically over the years from those two house fryers and two twenty-five gallon pots to a food truck, full-time restaurant, and celebrity chef catering business. In 2019, I decided to close the restaurant. I have always loved the nature of the food truck and its intimate feel, so I went back to it because that was my passion, dealing with my customers on a one-on-one basis.

Chef LaBoo has been featured in several local media broadcasts as well as been the headlining chef at several events. In addition to catering concerts when celebrities frequent SC, he has traveled to other states as well as accompanied artists on tour as their private chef of choice.
